Vax and Ororo: Day 3, Backdated to 3/27/19

Twinswap Plot, Day 3 Vax has adventures in womens' grooming. Ororo helps.

Vax had hoped he could just refuse to bathe for the extent of his stint in his sister's body. Living in her skin was weird, yeah, but touching her skin, washing her body? That was a whole other kind of wrong. Unfortunately, it seemed like girls got rank just easily as boys, and he was forced to admit that maybe just standing under some really hot water would work things out. That's why he scooted into the bathroom, a bottle of shampoo in one hand and a body wash in the other, looking decidedly awkward. He'd lived his whole life with Vex'ahlia, but there were some things that they just didn't do together. Not since they were like, five.

Ororo was in the boys' communal bathroom in a pair of shorts and a tank top, wielding clippers in front of a sink and mirror. She'd done the sides of her skull, but now she'd started on the back, and that was always tricky on your own. So when she heard someone come in, she looked over to see who it was, then smiled and turned off the clippers. "Vex! Would you hold this mirror up for me so I can see what I'm doing?" she asked, holding a hand mirror out to her friend.

Without even thinking, Vax was setting the bottles down and taking the mirror, staring somewhat blankly at the girl he knew was called Ororo, even if he really didn't know her at all. Did his sister? Clearly she did. "Ah... like this?" he asked as he tried to position the thing in his hand.

"Yes..." Ororo finally noticed that something seemed off with her friend, and instead of turning the clippers back on, she turned back around to face Vex, her expression one of quiet concern. "Is everything all right?"

Vax stood there, incapable of speech for a moment. Then he finally kicked himself and took a deep breath. "I should... you should know. I am...not Vex."

The way she spoke was off, Ororo realized, although she couldn't have said how exactly. "Who are you, then?" she asked, shifting her balance slightly, to put more weight on her back foot.

Vax noticed the shift in weight and took a slow step backward. "Her, ah. Brother. Her twin, Vax. There was an accident when my sister was attempting to create a charm, and we..." he grimaced. "...switched."

"Oh," Ororo let out, and then relaxed with a smile that was all about the release of tension. "Okay." She peered at him more closely now, to try and gauge his emotional state more than anything fancy like trying to find him in his sister's eyes. "How are you doing, Vax?"

He let out a huge breath. "Let's be honest - I've been better. And now I have to figure out how to take a shower without... getting more fucking weirded out than I already am. I mean, yeah, it's been enlightening, and maybe even tempting to try more things... but it's my sister."

Ororo wrinkled her nose. "Even if she wasn't." She couldn't imagine that she'd like it, herself, if someone took liberties with her body in that kind of situation. Though, come to think of it, Ororo wasn't certain yet exactly what kind of situation they were talking about. "Is this... This is reversible, right? Whatever she did, she can do it again?" Or perhaps the Professor could help.

He winced. "That's just it. We've switched powers, too. Which means I'm stuck with hers, with no idea what I'm doing. As hard as I 'focus', as she calls it, I can't seem to do much more than make Trinket appear."

That made sense, of course. Ororo nodded, glad, for Vex's sake, that Vax could at least pull off that much. "What does the Professor say?"

"That we need to 'make the best of it' while he searches for alternative solutions," Vax sighed. He glanced at the mirror in his hand and stared back at his sister's face, his pout looking rather more feminine than usual. "I suppose it's only fair. Usually I'm the one of us that fucks up. She was due."

Ororo's lips ticked up at the corner. "That's a philosophical way to look at it." She paused, then offered, her tone pragmatic, "If you have any questions about women's bodies..." She wasn't sure what might trip him up, or not, but it made sense to offer. Not just because he was in her friend's body, and she wanted him to take good care of it, but for his own sake, too. He might not want to ask his sister those questions, while Ororo was a neutral third party. Sometimes, those were easier.

That provoked a somewhat hysterical laugh from him and he set the mirror down. "I still haven't figured out how to put on a bra. Do you know, this is the first time I'm able to touch a woman's body, and why the fuck would I, it's my sister's!"

And he probably didn't want to go braless, considering he wasn't used to having breasts at all. Although what he said next had Ororo frowning slightly again. Twice, now, and she didn't like that reasoning any more the second time around. Her frown smoothed out and she asked, her voice calm to his upset, "What if it wasn't?"

Vax hesitated, then admitted, "I might be more willing to at least shower. Or look down. Do you realize how awkward using the bathroom is?" He groaned softly, leaning back against the counter. "Getting dressed is no picnic, either. Not to mention the fact that I can't even kiss my boyfriend, because... because that's a whole other shitshow."

Ororo relaxed at his answer, and nodded at his conclusion. "Well, I can't help you with that," she stated. "But the rest - think of it as doing her a service. Taking care of her body for her, while she can't. You want her to shower in yours, right?"

"I suppose so..." Vax mused. "My hair does need some upkeep."

"There you go, then," Ororo concluded with a small, hopeful smile.

"So what you're saying is 'chill out, bro'?" Vax smirked softly as he looked up at her.

Ororo's smile widened in answer. "Absolutely."

Vax looked back at the mirror. "So do you still need help with your hair? I happen to be even better at hair than my sister. Though don't tell her I said so."

"I won't choose sides in that conflict," Ororo stated with a soft chuckle. "But yes, please. I can do it by feel when no one's around to help out, but results are... mixed?" She thought that was the right word.

He flipped the mirror into his hand and grinned. "Then let's make sure it's right this time."

Ororo smiled, and turned back to pick up the clippers. "Thank you, Vax."
