Vex & Percy: Day 1, backdated to 3/25/19
Twinswap Plot, Day 1 Percy comes back to the room and greets 'his boyfriend' before Vex has the chance to explain the situation.
Vex tucked her brother’s phone into a pocket and rolled off the bed. She wasn’t sure how the headmaster would react to this body swap revelation but it would be better to get telling him over with. They could reverse this. There would be a way, because the alternative was too weird to think about.
Vex headed for the door, but it opened before she got to it.
Percy came into the room, his nose, as it so often was, buried in a book. He glanced up when he nearly walked right into something and, upon seeing it was Vax, broke into a brilliant smile. “Hello, dear.” He caught Vax by the waist and swung him in for a kiss.
Vex wasn’t ready for this very likely scenario. She blinked as Percy caught her around the waist and their lips barely brushed... Damnit, damnit, damnit. This was the one moment where this might be excusable. She’d wondered for years what it might be like to kiss Percy, but that ship had sailed. Nearly jumping him in Yorkland aside, she wasn’t about to snog the love of her brother’s life. Vex brought her hand up between them and leaned back enough to place her palm over Percy’s lips.
“Darling, looks are deceiving.” Percy might be looking into Vax’s face but from the recognition in his eyes, he knew Vex’s words entirely too well. “Magic mishap,” she explained. “I’ll put him back as soon as possible. I was just going to meet him to try and figure this out.”
Percy immediately let go of Vax—Vex. Much as he’d like to assume this was a prank, though that was Vax’s voice, and, that was, without a doubt, his mouth, the words were unmistakably all Vex’ahlia. “How?” was the only practical thing Percy could think of to say. He—She was even standing differently.
“You’ll be surprised to learn I’m not perfect,” she said distinctly. “And I fucked up a teleportation charm. I’m in here. He’s in my body. It’s going to weird for a little bit. Never you fear... we’ll fix this.”
“Of course, we will,” he agreed, trying to reassure Vex, though what he’d actually thought was that she didn’t sound overly confident. As weird as this was for him, it had to be ten times that for both Vax and Vex. “Is there anything I can do?”
She laughed. “I have no idea. We’re heading to warn the professor and then I think it’s going to be a magic party until we reverse this. Exciting!”
The corner of Percy’s mouth tugged up in an wryly amused smirk. “Not quite the word I would use, but to each their own. How’s Vax?”
“Unhappy,” Vex said with certainty. “And likely freaking out that he has tits. If you want to come with, you can see for yourself.”
Percy wanted to be by Vax’s side for this more than anything, but he knew if the situation was reversed and he, not Vax, was the one trapped in his sister’s body or, God forbid, Vex’s, the last thing he’d want was for their to be a crowd of people the first time Vax saw him like that. It was uncomfortable enough without an audience. “No. I’ll talk to him after. He might not want to see me just yet.”
Vex made a face and the expression was both out of place and so very recognizably Vex. “Point. Alright, I’m going to go grab him before he panics. Our powers are also swapped, and I’m not wearing black today. He probably feels like a neon sign. See you later, darling.” She headed swiftly for the door.
“Vex?” Percy called out before she left. “Don’t worry. We’ll fix this.”
She glanced back at Percy from the open door. “We always do.” With a wry smile and a wink she slipped into the hall.
