After the team-assignment meeting, Lance and Wanda discuss the situation.

The team-assignment meeting wrapped up, and Wanda glanced over at Lance, then jerked her head towards the door. Right. He was as pleased by all of this as she was, herself, that much was obvious. Fortunately, the floor hadn't started shaking yet. That was something.

The ceiling hadn't collapsed either, so she figured they were 2 for 2. But she was hoping to keep it that way.

She headed out the door, then stepped around the corner and waited.

Lance had only barely managed to keep it in check as he was assigned a team to go after Pietro. Maybe the floor hadn't started shaking, but the glass in several windows had vibrated a few times, and he'd had to bite his tongue until it bled to keep from losing his shit. By the time he met Wanda in relative privacy, he was ready to lose his shit. "Are you kidding me?" he hissed. "We're working with them? I thought this was a 'hey, this happened, we're dealing with it' kind of thing! Now I've got three random kids with me, slowing me down!"

"Two random kids," Wanda reminded him. "Nico's ours. And one of the others is my boyfriend, thank you. I've got four and none of them from our team."

"Three," Lance insisted. "I haven't even talked to the zombie kid much - and how the hell do I know what he's going to be like in the field? As for your boyfriend, what the fuck can he even do? And don't get me started on that guy in the underpants, I swear to god!"

"He's fucking amazing with a bow, and has hand-eye that might be better than Fatale's," Wanda pointed out indignantly, though her lips twitched a bit at the description of Lance's other assigned team member. "And it's not my fault you haven't talked to Zombie Boy. Do you want to be the one to stand up and tell Xavier we've got a team member who might not be ready to be out in the field? Because damned if I'm about to do that. He's one of ours."

"What I want is to get to Pietro, yesterday," Lance growled at her, the floor vibrating dangerously.

"And you think I don't?" Hex energy played around Wanda's fingertips. "I'm not even going after him, how do you think I feel?" Granted, she was going after Tommy, and she wouldn't have wanted anyone else to do that either, but still.

He opened his mouth to say, so come with me; help me save him, but he remembered Tommy at the last minute and switched gears. They had more than one person to worry about right now, no matter how much he was worried about Pietro. "I'm going to do this, but this is the one and only time I work with these clowns!"

"Fine." She dropped her hand, though flares of energy were still dimly flickering. "Just...get him back?" Her eyes met Lance's, uncharacteristically bright, though her expression was otherwise set in stone. Fuck if she was going to let anyone see otherwise.

"They're going to wish they were never even born," Lance told her, in a low, dangerous voice. "I'll get him back. I promise."

Wanda nodded acknowledgement. "Fuck them up," she offered in lieu of good luck, or goodbye, orany of the other things she could have said. And turned and headed off to round up her team.
