Kurt and Jeanne-Marie, backdated to 2/14/18

Kurt and Jeanne-Marie celebrate Valentine's Day.

There had been a few dates, so far, but this was Valentine's, so it had to be special. She'd found the perfect dress on sale on the internet, some cute accessories, and had even done just a touch of makeup. She'd considered trying to make Kurt dinner, but that was far more Jean-Paul's domain, so she decided against it. Instead, she'd ordered food, which should arrive at the gate in twenty minutes or so.

And Kurt said he had just the place to eat it. She took a deep breath and waited for his knock on the door.

Kurt was just finishing knotting his tie when the knock came at the door. She was here! His heart, which had already been racing, immediately picked up speed. Nervous, he fidgeted with his tie, then double-checked that his outfit—a white button down shirt he’d already owned and paired it with a new, out-of-the-box red tie— was in order before going to the door. He opened it and his smile became a look of awe.

Mein Gott, you look beautiful.”

She blushed, but gave a little twirl so her skirt flared slightly. "You look good, too!" She held out a hand to pull him out of the room with her. "And we match!”

Kurt looped Jeanne-Marie’s arm in his, and rested his hand over hers. “I had considered wearing pink, but I look better in red.”

"You could do either, but I think it was the right choice for today." She leaned in and kissed his cheek, just lips brushing over velvety skin. "Where are we having our romantic dinner?”

“One of the unused rooms,” Kurt replied, and he started to lead Jeanne-Marie toward it. “It is just down here.”

She squeezed his arm. "The food should arrive soon. Thank you for finding us a nice place to share it. I'm glad the party's not until Saturday, so we can have tonight alone.”

“Me too.” As excited Kurt was for the party, he was five times that for his first Valentine’s Day with Jeanne-Marie and he wanted to spend it with just her. “And thank you for ordering the food. I cannot wait to see what you have picked out for us.”

Kurt slowed as they neared the room he’d mentioned, then stopped. “Here we are. The waitstaff is terrible. Very inattentive. It is like they are nonexistent. But you can not beat the location.” He opened the door. “After you, mein liebchen.”

Fairy lights were strung from the ceiling, their tiny bulbs twinkling like hundreds of stars and bathing the room in a soft glow. A blanket was laid out on the floor beneath the makeshift starry sky, and small stacks of pillows were piled in two of the corners to give them something to lean against. Just behind the picnic-like set-up was Kurt’s reason for picking the room in the first place—A window seat that overlooked the grounds. It had its own arranged blanket and pillow collection and, at its center, a little stuffed bear holding a heart sat on top of a box of chocolates.

Jeanne-Marie gasped and clasped her hands together as she stepped inside. "Kurt! My God! I--you--wow." She turned to him and, on impulse, threw herself into his arms.

Kurt oofed jokingly as Jeanne-Marie barreled into him, and hugged her. “Oh, no, you hate it. Come on. Let’s go.” He pretended to start to lead her from the room.

“Never!” She laughed and kissed his cheek, tugging back. “I need to hug that teddy bear!”

Kurt let Jeanne-Marie tug him along, his eyes all on her. God, she was beautiful. “Our first Valentine’s Day called for some classics.”

“It did!” She let go of him to swoop over and grab the bear, squishing it to her chest. “I’ve always wanted an evening like this and I don’t even know if I realized it!”

Kurt beamed, happy to have done so right by her. “Happy Valentine’s Day,” he said.

"You are the best!" She squeed and did a little spin, taking the pretty room in. "I should've known you'd go all out--of course I did. But I'm still so surprised! So much work!”

Kurt didn’t think so, but, if it was, it had all been worth it. “I have a confession to make: There is one more surprise.”

Jeanne-Marie's eyebrows went up. "More?" Her heart fluttered, her cheeks pinked. She set down the bear and approached Kurt with her hands out.

“Mhm.” Kurt he took Jeanne-Marie’s hands in his and pulled a little jewelry box out of his back pocket with his tail, presenting it to her. Once opened, there was a small bracelet inside. “In Germany, there is a tradition of giving pigs for Valentine’s Day. It is a little strange, I will grant you, but I wanted to give you a little bit of my home.”

Another squee, this one softer and sweeter, and she threw herself into his arms. "It's. So. Cute!"

... and maybe she was blushing a little because... tail... and the thing Shen had implied about... tail... Yes, she'd just hide her face in his shirt for now.

Kurt hugged Jeanne-Marie, looking at her with confused amusement as she buried her face against him. “Is everything alright, liebchen?”

"Mmm--yes!" She lifted her face, cheeks bright red, and nodded. Her fingers curled in Kurt's shirt for a moment, but she made herself let go. "Everything is wonderful!" And she was definitely not thinking about that tail! She held out the pig to him, and then her wrist. "Here. Will you put it on, please?”

“I would love to.” Kurt took the bracelet from Jeanne-Marie and put it on her, his fingers brushing against the underside of her wrist as he tightened the band. He looked up once he was done, hand still in hers, and smiled. “There. Perfect.”

On impulse, she leaned in and pressed her mouth to his, running her other hand through his hair and then pulling him closer.

The intensity of the kiss took Kurt by surprise. He and Jeanne-Marie had kissed many times, but never anything quite like this. His heart was racing. He cupped her face, gently guiding her to right the angle of the kiss, and one of his thumbs ran along the curve of her cheekbone.

Goosebumps ran down Jeanne-Marie’s neck, then torso—except she wasn’t cold, just... something new and electric was running through her. She went with Kurt’s guidance eagerly, trying to get it right, to make it feel how she was... well, feeling. She combed through his hair, raking gently, and pressed closer to him, her front to his.

The drag of Jeanne-Marie’s nails sent a warm shiver down Kurt’s spine that spread across his skin. Had making out always felt this good? His tail twined around her waist, holding her close, and his hands slid back to cradle her head as his tongue traced across her lips in a wordless request.

Almost as if she'd done this before, Jeanne-Marie parted her lips and tilted a little more. She felt so dizzy and warm, her blood rushing so loud in her ears. She couldn't help thinking--about that tail. It made her smile into the kiss.

Kurt’s tail hug Jeanne-Marie in and his fingers curled, burying themselves into her hair a little more as his tongue dipped into her mouth. He felt hyper-aware of everything. Every inch of him that Jeanne-Marie was pressed against sparked with electricity. Her lips were soft and warm and tasted like her strawberry lip gloss and he could feel her heart thudding against her chest. It was incredible.

Though she'd felt the compulsion to touch him many, many times, this was different. Jeanne-Marie wanted to run her hands all over Kurt, of a sudden. Up under his nice shirt, especially. She didn't, but her fingers twitched for it, so she carded them through his hair again to keep them busy. The kiss broke off softly, then she dove in for another--

And her phone buzzed. "Oh! The food!" She was breathing hard, wide eyed, staring into Kurt's eyes as if she'd forgotten where she was.

Kurt stared at Jeanne-Marie dazedly, then shook his head to clear it and to yank himself back to reality. “Oh. Right! I can go get it.” He turned on his Image Inducer, and the hologram flickered into place over him. “I will be right back.” He teleported.

Jeanne-Marie flopped into a chair immediately--her knees had almost given out. She tried to compose herself, running fingers through her hair and taking a deep breath. But her head was still spinning. And her grin threatened to hurt her face.

A few minutes later, Kurt returned in flash of smoke with the bag of take-out in hand. He tried not to stare at Jeanne-Marie who looked like an angel with her flushed cheeks and her breathless smile, and was even more glad he’d gone to grab the food. The fresh air had done him good. His head was clear and he felt less like his heart was going to pound its way out of his chest. And thank God for that because he wasn’t sure how he else he would have survived the rest of this date.

Holding up the bag of food with a grin, Kurt said, “World’s fastest delivery service. We get it to you in five seconds, or you get it for free.”

Jeanne-Marie giggled and stood to help lay out the food. "Merci!" she singsonged. "Come on, let's eat. Before we get into trouble." She shot him a knowing look with a tiny, playful smile.

Kurt flushed at that teasing, suggestive look and the thought of trouble. Apparently, he could have used a little more fresh air. Carrying the bag over to their picnic blanket, he said, “It smells delicious. Have you ordered from this place before?”

She shook her head, still a little flushed herself, and popped open the salad. It was gorgeous, an antipasti to start out--but without pepperoni because that was weird in salads. They'd done it perfectly! She picked up one of the yellow peppers and held it between two delicate fingers. "Jean-Paul said it was good. And I wasn't in the mood for Thai." That seemed... not like something to eat before you were hoping to kiss someone, somehow. Of course, Italian had garlic, but if they were both garlicky, that was all right. No one wanted a spice-induced stomach ache--just in case!

“It looks as good as it smells. Thank you for organizing the food for tonight,” Kurt told Jeanne-Marie as he sat down across from her. He started to set places for them, laying out plates, napkins, and utensils, then moved on to pouring them both a glass of sparking apple cider in plastic champagne glasses.

"Thank you for--for everything," Jeanne-Marie said with a little laugh. She didn't even know how to express the way she felt around Kurt. It was good, though. And to see him take so much trouble, with his little gifts and sweetness... "I'm so happy. I--I just hope you are as happy as I am.”

Kurt’s heart swelled. He reached over to take Jeanne-Marie’s hand in his and gave her an adoring smile. “I am so happy too. So very happy, liebchen.”

Right, they needed to eat or she was going to leap into his arms and kiss him again. For a long time.

After dinner. For certain.

It's not that JP hold a grudge against Kurt so much as he just doesn't care about him except in relation to JM's happiness, which he thinks is fair given that's how Kurt (from JP's POV) views him.
