What's the Brotherhood all about? Read on.

Dancing with guys she didn't know was awesome, but there was something about dancing with Pietro that was in a class all its own. Maybe it was because she pretty much always knew how he was going to move. Maybe it was because, like her, he genuinely loved doing it, just for its own sake.

Or fuck it, maybe it was just because she loved to dance, period, and Pietro never needed to be talked into it.

"So, not a bad party?" she joked as she grinned up at him. Granted, she'd found out that she apparently had reincarnated sons or something, but hey, whatever. At least they'd gotten an answer to that whole mess, and found out that the kids were definitely family. She'd think about the implications of it all later, when she had less beer in her system.

"Weird as shit in some ways, but hey. Welcome to the Maximoff Life." Pietro chugged the last of his drink and steered her toward he dance floor. It was sooooo time. Past time. "They should be playing one of our songs any time now. Or all the time. Let's show em how it's done."

"And we're the perfect people to do it," Wanda confirmed with a smirk. They reached the dance floor and started moving with the music, reaching up to plant one hand on her twin's shoulder.

He put a hand at her waist and moved his hips and shoulders in time. They'd been dancing together since they were born, basically; this was like breathing, for a Maximoff. "What do you think? Are our people having a good time or what?"

"Oh yeah." Wanda grinned. "How could they not be? We throw an awesome party."

The song stopped, and then a man's voice started a new one.

Screen falling off the door door hanging off the hinges
My feet are still sore my back is on the fringes...

"Oh, man! This song is so perf." Pietro started bouncing with it, automatically looking out for their fellow Brotherhood members.

We tore up the walls we slept on couches
We lifted this house we lifted this house

"Eileen!" Wanda shouted, recognizing the song as the same one she and Eileen had drunkenly claimed as theirs a while back. She waved her arms over her head to catch the other girl's attention, then went back to scanning the crowd for the others.

Fatale's head jerked up as the song started, and she bounced to her feet, grabbing for Alex's hand. "Gotta do it," she said, tugging him along. Okay, she wasn't big on dancing, but whatever. This song made sense. Besides, it had a decent beat.

As soon as the first notes had started, Eileen had frozen in the air, more or less knowing what to expect. Fortunately, she had developed enough of a buzz by that point it didn't seem like such a terrible idea. Hell, it seemed downright genius. She waved to Wanda as the other called out her name, and drifted toward the dancing Maximoffs, legs straightening beneath her to properly touch the ground again. Because that was the only way to enjoy a proper Brotherhood dance party.

Firecrackers in the east
My car parked south
Your hands on my cheeks
Your shoulder in my mouth ...

She bounced along with the twins for a moment, her eyes still glowing for all she wasn't obviously using her powers. When she spotted Toad on the periphery, she none-too-gently tugged him toward the rest of his teammates with a bit of focused electromagnetic repulsion. "Mort! Get your skinny green ass over here."

I was up against the wall
On the west mezzanine ...

"Goddammit," Alex grumbled, mostly for show, as he fell in with Fatale and the others in the middle of the floor. He wouldn't pretend he was a particularly skilled dancer--fortunately, you didn't have to be, with this group. So he bounded along with one hand on the small of Pam's back, watching the others and trying not to grin at how ridiculous it all was. How perfect it all was.

Mort didn't really fight the push of electromagnetic repulsion towards his teammates. Hey, when a lady asked you (however indirectly) asked you to dance, you danced! He did, admittedly feel weird about it. No one ever actually wanted to party with him, but hey, first time for everything, right? He had never been part of a mutant group, either.

"C'mon, bro," he said to Avalanche, as he made his way towards the others.

Lance sighed as Mort bounded past him, drawing his attention to the group on the dance floor. He should have known, given the song. Fuck it. He slung an arm over Pyro's shoulders, using his weight to lead the guy in the direction of the dance floor. "Let's go, pouty."

"Is that a thing we do now?" Pyro asked with a wince, looking around for Magik in the hope that she would rescue him from having to dance. Fuck, where was your, um, girlfriend? when you needed her? They were reaching the dance floor now, and almost everybody was there. He hated dancing, but he kinda had to, didn't he? "Hey, Freddy, you too!" he called out to their last missing teammate, gesturing for him to come on over and join them.

If there was one thing Freddie Dukes wasn't, it was a dancer. He'd been hogging bar space since they'd gotten this thing going, and was putting away the brews like they were going to be illegal tomorrow. Not that they seemed to be having any effect beyond a truly tectonic belch. Pyro's shout drew his attention away from stuff he could stick in his mouth t last. And much to the dismay of anyone with a survival instinct, he grinned hugely and nodded. "Hell yeah, make way!" He boomed, and started to steamroll his way onto the dance floor. Blob was an... enthusiastic dancer. Not a graceful one.

Pietro winked over his shoulder at Lance and grinned hugely at the others. Now this was what he was talking about!

What do you know? this house is falling apart
What can I say? this house is falling apart

Pietro spotted Illyana standing off to one side, drinking her drink and looking cute. He smirked in Pyro's direction and then waved to 'Yana. "Get out here! You can be honorary!"

We got no money, but we got heart
We're gonna rattle this ghost town
This house is falling apart

Illyana'd been watching, amused and maybe a little wistful, as the Brotherhood team gathered on the dance floor - and startled as she saw Pietro wave her to join them. Grinning, she set her mostly empty drink down and hurried over to join the group, feeling...well, considerably more a part of things than she'd felt at the last party she'd attended. Or possibly ever.

What do you know? this house is falling apart
What can I say? this house is falling apart

It was, she decided as she started bouncing around with the rest, a really nice feeling.

Wanda had been happily dancing with first one of her teammates, then the next, when she caught sight of the kids. Her kids, in some kind of seriously fucked up way she wasn't entirely sure she understood, but family, no matter how you looked at it. Which was, at the end of the day, what this was all about, wasn't it? Smiling at them both, she waved for them to join in.

We got no money, but we got heart
We're gonna rattle this ghost town

"This house is falling apart!" she shouted, knowing at least some of the others would join in.

By the time everything had settled out and Tommy had a moment to breathe, he was wishing the drinks would actually have some kind of kick. The music helped, though, a heavy beat vibrating up through the floor. He watched the group gather on the dance floor -- they were kind of hard to miss -- and shot back the rest of the beer in his hand when Illyana joined them. It figured, really.

Screen falling off the door door hanging off the hinges

Wanda's wave, though... he hadn't expected that. Tommy elbowed Billy and nodded toward the dance floor. "Mom's calling," he laid the sarcasm on thick, mostly to watch Billy's reaction. "You coming?"

Billy had been in the middle of drinking his first cup of water that night when he felt Tommy's sharp elbow in his side. He had turned to tell him to quit it when he heard Tommy's words and glanced out onto the dance floor to see Wanda waving at them to come join. With his nerves gone and leaving him tired, Billy couldn't really find a reason to ignore her request. He gulped the rest of his water, then followed Tommy out onto the floor, watching as his brother moved closer to Fatale and he let the music just move him.

My feet are still sore my back is on the fringes

After a few surreptitious glances at Wanda on just how to do this without looking like a total idiot, Fatale was swaying her hips against Alex (who she was positive wouldn't object) when she saw Tommy heading her way, and smiled brightly and held out a hand to him. "Come on!" she yelled over the music. After all, he was one of them. This just made it official or something.

We were up against the wall on the west mezzanine

This was ri-goddamn-diculous, of that Eileen was perfectly aware. She also had zero fucks to give about it. The relatively small circle the Brotherhood had initially formed at the center of dance floor widened precipitously when Freddie joined them, then again with the addition of Illyana and the not-quite-Maximoff set of twins. That last pair was a bit of a surprise, but not one she'd have been inclined to complain about; the more mutants they had being awesome to one of her favorite songs, the better, as far as she was concerned. She offered Tommy a brief, though still somewhat rueful smirk and a wave as he sidled up to Fatale, and then went back to feeling the music.

We rattle this town
We rattle this scene

She bopped along with the music, humming along with the chorus, eyes glowing with that strange energy that flared up whenever she used her powers. For now, she was just feeling the others, enjoying the interactions of their harmonies; a familiar music of pulses and thrums that meant family to her in a way she'd never known in her previous life. Almost unconsciously, she rose a little bit in the air, her feet now dancing over empty space as easily as they had the floor, her ascent pausing once she was roughly at Fred-height. Never hurt to remind him the rest of them were down there, when he got all enthusiastic.

What do you know? This house is falling apart
What can I say? This house is falling apart

Alex had not, in fact, minded Fatale pressing up against him during the impromptu Brotherhood dance, but when she held a hand out to Tommy he let her go just as readily. Their relationship was complicated in a way he couldn't begin to put into words, but sharing her attention didn't bother him. It occurred to him, sometimes, that possibly it should, but ... Well. She would always be something to him. Something important. He'd incinerate the whole eastern seaboard before he let anyone separate them permanently.

We got no money but we got heart

He continued to dance, to the extent he was able--which wasn't much, all things considered. Still, between Fred and Mort, he suspected he didn't stand out all that much.

"We gonna rattle this ghost toooooown," Mort sang along, bouncing up and down. Which was basically the same as dancing, right? Hey, he was partying with actual people! Who were dancing with him voluntarily! This was the life!

It wasn’t Lance’s usual choice of music, but the others were getting into it, so he sort of swayed in place, raising his beer bottle in tribute at the refrain, singing, “This house is falling apart, this house is falling apart.”

And, beneath them, the floor started to rumble, the neon chandeliers shaking in place.

You didn't need more than one hand to flick a Zippo open, and Pyro was very grateful for that, seeing as he did not want to disentangle his fingers from Magik's. He stopped jumping along to the song (it was as close as he would get to dancing) to flick the light on, then divided and grew the small flame into enough fireballs to draw a circle above them all. The flames danced better than he would ever, and he kept his gaze up on them, reveling in the sensation and the control, only briefly grinning at Magik, or his teammates, now and then, amped up on the feeling of the song, the feeling of the moment, this moment, the floor rumbling, all of them together, and Magik's hand in his.

What do you know? this house is falling apart
What can I say? this house is falling apart
We got no money, but we got heart
We're gonna rattle this ghost town

The ground was shaking, the fire was dancing, and Illyana beamed, her hand in Pyro's as she bounced along with the rest. Part of it all, for once, not on the outside, watching and trying to figure out how to be. She just needed some way to...yes. That'd work. Her fingers still tangled with Pyro's, she focused on the glow bracelets on Pietro's wrists and whispered a spell. Just a little transformation...

A few dozen glowing bubbles rose from the circle to float among the dancing flames, and Illyana leaned into Pyro's arm and grinned brighter.

This house is falling apart!

Tommy was acutely aware that he and Billy were surrounded by super-powered strangers, some of whom looked like they could snap both the twins in half – one of whom had already actively tried.

Too much had happened over the last hour and change to make sense of, not without taking time to sit and think. But the beat was strong and the music loud, and for the moment he could ride on that to forget. Just... let it go and be a kid for the couple of minutes he was allowed. So he danced, daring to put a hand on Pam’s hip and guide her into the rhythm the song had set.

Billy knew absolutely no one in this group besides Tommy, Yana and sort of Wanda. He did his best to dance to the song and not feel extremely awkward, but then he noticed Wanda watching him and when their eyes met she moved her head in a signal for him to come over. It took Billy less than half a second to decicde and made his way over to dance with the girl who just might have the weirdest connection to him.

He glanced up and laughed at seeing glowing bubbles and fire mixed together above their heads, knowing that to be the work of Yana and probably Pyro.

Pietro laughed--there was something funny and glorious about the shaking of the floor in time and the fiery bubble show, something unabashedly mutant and celebratory, that made him feel high. Sure, they were a bunch of fuck-ups, technically speaking. Sure, this group now apparently included his possible future-nephews because magic reasons.

But hey. Life was always a fuckin' circus around here. Might as well enjoy it and dance.

This house is falling apart!
