Warren arranges for a forum to be held concerning the mutants planning to go public (and the ones that already have), and they all answers any questions from other students that might be tossed their way.

Warren: (Stands up first.) First, thanks, everyone for coming. I’m Warren, and I’m here because I want everyone to feel comfortable talking to me--to us--about what’s going on out there and what that means for everyone in here.

Tamara: Pretty sure you all know me, but hey, I’m Tamara. Here to answer whatever questions you guys have for me. And to let you all know that I’m happy to interview other out mutants on my Youtube channel!

JP: I’m Jean-Paul Beaubier. I’m here because I suspect a lot of you had concerns about whether or not I was going to wind up mentioning this place while sparring with some of the idiots granted airspace on the CBC. So we might as well get it all out in the open.

Simon: You uh, you all probably know who I am, but if not, my name’s Simon Tam. I am working on getting my medical degree, but in the meantime, I’m doing research in the lab attached to the infirmary to study genetics and the X-gene. If you have any questions about the X-gene, or the research being done, feel free to ask.

Kurt: Hallo, I am Kurt. As some of you may have already heard, I am planning on coming out as a mutant. I am here to explain how I hope to do that, address any concerns, and hear any ideas or suggestions you may have. I know that, in a way, my decision affects all of us and I want you to know your opinions are important to me.

Shen: Hey, I'm Shen, and I'm here because I'm planning to come out at the same time as this handsome guy right here. *with a nod to Kurt* I believe strongly in the virtue of coming out for the other mutants out there, and for personal reasons, but I totally get that it worries some of you. Hey, it worries me, too. Hopefully this meeting will help.

Tessa: You may call me Tessa. I assist Kitty in maintaining the virtual security of the school. I have also extensively studied the layout of the school and the topography of the surrounding terrain to more effectively assess tactical contingencies which may or may not arise, and oversee the rosters and scheduling of the various X-Force training groups. I look forward to your inquiries.

Kitty: Okay, and hi! I’m Kitty Pryde. Along with Tessa, I monitor the security of our computer networks here. I’ll also be acting as the moderator for this discussion, to make sure we get through all of our questions and don’t have to sit in these hard chairs for like, three hours. So, let’s get started. Who has questions? If you don’t speak up right away, I have a few in my back pocket to ask myself!

Monica: Hi! I'm Monica. I'm sort of new here but I want to start by saying that I appreciate the forum but also the fact that you're all working to improve visibility and give us a public face that isn't threatening. I was wondering how much you guys are working with the school on this. The panel is great, but it's all students. Is this simply a student initiative or are you teaming up with the Professor and teachers to address concerns around media and security and such? Thanks!

Kitty: (Glancing at Warren) Warren, you put this together. You wanna answer this one?

Warren: (Nods.) Sure--awesome question. The Professor and the other staff have been great working with us--without trying to dictate how we should tell our own stories. Personally, I've had a lot of advice from Xavier, and I know I'm not the only one up here who can say that. The part they're super into is the security aspect, keeping the school off the radar. I mean, that's how it seems to me. Tessa?

Tessa: (Hands folded before her.) That has been my experience, so far. Even before Kitty and I began supplementing the measures in place, the school's virtual security was impressive; with our modifications, it would require more expertise than is generally available amongst our most vocal detractors to penetrate it. The grounds, too, are adequately remote to make the probability of accidental exposure vanishingly remote--particularly given the number of unusually gifted telepaths in residence--and the compound itself operates in a far more self-sufficient manner than its exterior would suggest. Our work to identify and minimize potential threats is ongoing by necessity, but I am confident the probabilities are in our favor, in terms of maintaining student confidentiality. If you wish, I can forward specific statistics to your school email at a later time.

Monica: I'd appreciate it, thank you. That does bring up one more question though, will there be a transcript of this meeting availible?

Kitty: (Grins.) Yep. It's all being recorded for posterity. I tested the audio quality for the room earlier, so anyone who wants to listen in later, just request a copy from me.

Kurt: (Raises his hand to get attention, then folds them on the table) In regard to security, I would like to add that Shen and I have been working very closely with the school and Tessa and Kitty to make sure we, and anyone else who chooses to be involved, will not put others at risk.

Vex: So, do you all have some cover story for where you’re living, if not here? Or how you know each, or if you know each other?

Simon: As far as the situation with Warren, Jean-Paul, and myself goes, Warren and Jean-Paul met through Jean-Paul's tournaments, and Warren and I met through social events, as Worthington Industries is a client of my father's. These things are fact. Warren and Jean-Paul are openly a couple, and share an apartment in the city. I have my own, close to the university I'm attending. Clarice has graciously agreed to teleport us from these locations when needed.

Kitty: Kurt, Shen, Tamara, do you have any plans for cover stories?

Shen: I'm living with my uncle in Salem Center, and I'm homeschooled. Kurt and I started talking on the internet, because visible mutants unite. (With a smile over at Kurt.) And talking made us decide to stage a protest.

Tam: I just don't tell anyone where I live, or how I get in touch with other out mutants. [smirks] I like the mystery.

Kurt: I plan on keeping personal information like that private, but, if I end up being pressed, I am staying with a family friend and I am also being home-schooled.

Jeanne-Marie: I have a question for Kurt and Shen. (big smile.) I've also been thinking of coming out publicly--even though I've already been seen using my powers, I'd like to make it official. I'm probably not the only one. Are you two planning anything that might have room for others?

Shen: (Bright megawatt smile.) The more the merrier. We're organizing a protest at the end of March. Anyone and everyone is welcome.

Jean: (hands clasped behind her back to keep from fidgeting) General question, and kind of a follow-up to Jeanne-Marie and Shen... do any of you have immediate plans, and how can we help?

Kurt: (waves to Jeanne-Marie) As Shen mentioned, she and I working out the details for a protest in March. Anyone is welcome to join as a mutant or as an ally. If you want to help, but do not want to do something so public, we could always use a hand making signs or getting word about the protest out there. Nothing is too small!

Kitty: Does anyone have any other plans coming up? Tamara, do you have any vids planned?

Tam: Always! But nothing specific. I've been trying to work on one talking about, uh, family rejection, but I always get stuck. [wings shuffle uncomfortably] I'm thinking maybe it's too personal with just me? And I'm definitely not the only one who got thrown out because of my mutation. So yeah, hit me up if you want to be in a video about that, or want me to tell your story anonymously or something!

Tommy: [leans forward with a dark laugh, looks about to call something out in response. He stops before he says anything, looks over at Billy, seems to reconsider, then shuts his mouth and sits back again.]

Kitty: (Glances at Tommy, sobering a little before nodding.) That's definitely a personal theme, but if anyone is interested, they can talk to Tamara privately - no need to announce to the school who you are, either. Other questions?

Terry: How are you going to handle being out and being on X-Force, for those of you who are?

Jean-Paul: Speaking for myself, a combination of image inducers, being cautious about which missions I volunteer for, and how I engage my powers in public. If it's a choice between saving another mutant and saving my ass, the other mutant wins. But I will have to be more circumspect than I would be otherwise, depending on circumstances.

Kitty: (Looks at the others.) Warren, Shen, Kurt?

Shen: Aaaall the image inducing. Different wings, different face, a bit older. (Grins.) Still a small kickass Chinese girl, though.

Jubilee: Woohoo! (Calls out, raising a fist in solidarity, then shrugs as people turned to look at her) What? It had to be said!

Shen: (Laughs.) Totally.

Kurt: I will also be using an Image Inducer, though I would not want to change so much that I would no longer have physical mutations. I know I am a little harder to disguise, so if people are at all uncomfortable, I am willing to step down from X-Force.

Bobby: (shakes head) Nuh uh, dude. You signed up, you're not getting out of it that easy.

Kurt: (grins) Do not worry, Bobby. Even if I am not on X-Force, I will still be your friend.

Kitty: (rolling her eyes at the boys) Okay, well, if that's it for questions, just know that if you have any questions for any of us, you can totally ask in private afterwards.

Jean-Paul: What she said. But seriously, thank you all for showing up and getting some of this out in the open.

Kurt: Thank you everyone. If you have any more questions about the protest, do not hesitate to come ask myself or Shen.
