Billy is digesting TJ's revelations about his alternate-universe self, and Teddy is a listening ear.

Billy pushed his way into his room and made a beeline for their bed, flopping down on it heavily with a long drawn out groan. He let his face be smashed by the pillows for a little while longer before turning his head to look over at Teddy who was at his desk. “So, I just talked with my alternate reality half-sister. Which is another thing I never thought anyone would ever say.”

Teddy stopped typing and pushed his chair back from his desk until it bumped against the bed, spinning to face Billy's prostrated body. Reaching over, he rubbed Billy's back and shoulders. "I hate to break it to you, Bee, but your family tree is weird."

“It’s super weird!” Billy agreed and worm-wiggled his way so he could reach out and place his chin on Teddy’s knee. “You’re so lucky your family is one mom. I have two moms, one dad, one mystery sperm donor, three brothers, of which one is a future reincarnated twin with me and now a half sister, whose dad is a guy I made out with at a party.”

Just saying it like that made Billy feel a little bit queasy. He moved his head so his forehead was on Teddy’s knee instead and sighed. “She also told me about my alternate self she had met...”

Teddy switched from rubbing Billy's back to running his fingers through Billy's hair, scritching lightly at his scalp. Thinking about Billy making out with Kurt was the absolute last thing Teddy wanted to concentrate on, so he followed a different conversation thread instead. "Oh yeah? What was he like? Ten feet tall and made of bees?" He added, grinning.

“What is with you and bees?” Billy muttered, but turned his head and grinned, almost purring at the attention Teddy was paying to his scalp. “No, I was not made of honey making machines. I was myself, but older and had control of my powers, thank god.”

He flushed a little and glanced over at the wall instead of up at Teddy. “I umm...I also apparently got married and had a kid with a guy. A guy whose name...was Teddy.”

Okay, that was ... Teddy examined his feelings. Not terrible? Not that either of them were in any way old enough to be thinking about anything like that, but the idea in general, that he'd get married and have a family of his own ... that felt good. Was it freaking Billy out in a different way? Maybe a not-great way? Hopefully not.

"Hunh," Teddy said aloud, because he had to say something. He'd stopped scritching in there somewhere while he thought and he started up again. "That's kind of nice. To know there's at least one version of reality where we make it work long-term."

Billy let out a small sigh of relief when it didn’t seem to bother Teddy that in some other reality they ended up together for good. Well, marriage didn’t always mean for good, but Billy liked to consider himself a one time guy...at fifteen. Ugh. “Yeah, that’s true.”

He pulled his head away from Teddy’s amazing fingers and sat up to face him. “I guess it’s just weird to me? That my other self found other you?”

TJ hadn’t said specifically that it was the same Teddy, but who else could it have been when it came to Billy. How many Teddy’s did he know? Only one. “Sounds like the plot to a bad sci-fi romance novel.”

"The entire thing is weird," Teddy pointed out. "Alternate timelines? Co-existing dimensions with new versions of the same people in wholly different circumstances? I mean. It's literally the plot of more than one Star Trek episode per series. I've already accepted the idea that you have a twin brother from a mother who hasn't actually given birth to you yet. Why not add a helping of predestined matchmaking on top of it?"

Not that he believed in soulmates, and even if there really were other-dimension versions of Billy and Teddy together, it didn't mean that they were going to be compatible enough in this world for the same thing to happen. But still.

“Predestined, huh?” Billy gave a small smile at that, but let it fall as he thought about it. On one hand the idea of finding the one person the universe wanted him to be with was kinda cool, on the other Billy wanted to kick it and tell it that he could do it on his own and pick for himself. He tapped his fingers on Teddy’s knee and hummed a little.

“When you say at least one, it makes it sound like you have no hope for us in this one.” He smiled a little to show that he wasn’t upset by what Teddy had said. “I’ll have you know you would be lucky to marry into my crazy ass-hat family. What with my bonkers extreme grandfather, my teenage witch mom and soul twin who can’t keep his mouth shut. I’m a god damn catch with that pedigree following me.”

"And you sell it so well," Teddy teased him back. "Given that encyclopedia of dysfunction I'm amazed that an orphaned Army brat is exciting enough to keep your interest."

Billy couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face and he leaned forward to give a chaste kiss to Teddy’s lips. “What can I say? I’m a sucker for a man with a sharp wit and expansive knowledge of Pokemon.”

Teddy accepted the kiss with a smile, pushing himself out of his chair to flop face-down onto the bed next to Billy. "Oh well. One out of two isn't bad," he joked. But they'd gotten way off-topic, and he cushioned his chin on his folded arms. "So what's she like? Your newest sci-fi relative, I mean."

“She’s...” Billy trailed off as he thought about TJ, moving so he could sit cross-legged next to Teddy and reached out to pluck at the back on his shirt. “Well, she looks a ton like Kurt. Like, make Kurt a girl and there you go, but she’s got a little more bite? No, that’s the wrong word. She’s really nice, but she’s also a little more...sassy?”

Kurt could be sassy, but while Kurt would be nice to even the biggest jerk, Billy got the feeling TJ would let them have it. “She seems like she won’t take as much shit as Kurt. If that makes any sense.”

"So something like Kurt crossed with you," Teddy guessed, his smile faded a little. "Though if she's supposed to be Wanda's kid, that makes some kind of sense. That's a match I really can't imagine, mind you. Not that I know either of them very well, but still. It's hard to think of those two having some grand love story."

“Right?!” Billy almost yelled, then immediately turned his volume down. “I mean, right? That’s like the weirdest match up I could ever come up with. Maybe as a one time hook up and then whoopsies, but not as a together forever thing.”

He pressed his lips together so they thinned and then laughed a bit. “But hey, if she goes for Kurt in that timeline, then maybe I don’t have to be worried my future sperm donor is some kind mutant extremist and that he’s just some nice guy. Mutant or not.”

Teddy paused, and winced. "You don't think..." he trailed off, because that would just be awkward. "Not in this universe. Would they...?"

Billy let out a inhuman eagle screech before covering his face with his hands and trying not to think about that possibility. He let his hands slide down his face slowly, his finger tips pulling his lower lids down so they showed the red inside as he looked at Teddy in horror. “If that’s true I might as well just fucking claw my eyes out now.”

Teddy tried to hold back the laughter, honest to God he did. It would burst out of him if he said anything so he ducked his head and looked away, biting the inside of his cheeks. His shoulders shook anyway, betraying him.

“You are so awful.” Billy growled, moving to lay over Teddy so they made some weird human cross. “I’m glad you find the idea of me maybe dabbling in some seriously gross incest shit so funny. You’re a real pal.”

Just to show how much he appreciated Teddy’s laugh, he reached over to pinch Teddy’s butt.

"Hey!" Teddy yelped, and he rolled over to grab Billy's hands before he could launch another assault. "If it makes sure you don't change your mind and throw me over for him, I'll joke about that all I can," he teased, though there was enough of a grain of truth there that the shame pinged at him.

Billy’s mood softened considerably when Teddy said that and he gently pulled his hands away from Teddy’s grip on them. He moved back up so he was sitting next to the blond again, reaching out to run a hand through that golden hair. “You know I don’t need freak chances of Kurt being my dad to keep me with you, right? I picked you because I want you. Apparently, so did my other self, for life.”

Teddy tipped his chin up and leaned into Billy's touch. "It was a joke, I promise. I have no reason at all to doubt you." And every reason to want to bottle this moment alongside his other precious memories of the last few weeks. "And obviously your other self has excellent taste," he teased, letting go of the momentary weird.

Billy grinned widely and bent down to kiss Teddy’s cheek. “Well, thank god for that. If he’s like me at all, his taste in everything else ain’t great, so good taste in men can be our saving grace.”
